Information collected automatically
Our service receives technical records such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, request time, requested page, and security or error events. Signed-in sessions store an IP address and user agent and expire after 30 days unless ended sooner.
If you allow analytics, RevManic stores a random visitor and visit identifier, public pages and selected interactions, a sanitised referrer, browser information, and a one-way network fingerprint. New activity is associated with your account while you are signed in. Google Analytics receives a random browser identifier, pages and interactions, approximate location, and browser and device information. Microsoft Clarity receives pseudonymous browser and session identifiers, page structure, and interaction data used to create heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity masks form inputs and sensitive page content by default. We do not send your account name or email address to either analytics provider.
Google sign-in
Google authenticates your account. RevManic requests the openid, email, and profile scopes. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendars, or other Google services.
How we use information
We use personal information to operate and secure RevManic, authenticate users, maintain sessions, attribute and review submissions, verify authority to claim a product profile, contact you about a claim or contribution, prevent abuse, maintain editorial and security records, understand public-site usage when analytics is allowed, comply with law, and protect our users and service.
Contributions stay private while awaiting editorial review. If we publish a contribution, its product facts, rationale, conditions, or evidence link may become public. We do not publish your account email, business email, private note, or Google account identifier as part of that contribution.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process account and submission data to provide the service you request; technical, security, editorial, and abuse-prevention data for our legitimate interests in operating a trustworthy catalogue; analytics data with your consent; and information as needed to meet legal obligations or protect legal rights. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards intended to protect personal information across borders.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Account records are generally retained while your account is active. Sessions expire after 30 days. Claim requests and catalogue submissions may be retained through editorial review and afterwards to preserve catalogue provenance, prevent duplicate or abusive requests, resolve disputes, and maintain an accurate audit history.
Consent-based RevManic visitor activity is retained for 90 days. Rotated server request logs are retained for up to 14 days for reliability and security investigation.
When an account is deleted, we delete or de-identify associated personal information unless it must be retained for security, legal, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping reasons. Public editorial material may remain with the contributor identity removed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Send a request to hello@revmanic.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing it. You can end an active session by signing out and can change analytics consent through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
RevManic is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as RevManic changes. We will post the revised version here, change the date above, and provide additional notice when required by law.
